Terry Alan Church, 78, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Salisbury on February 23, 1946 and was the son of the late James Lake Church and Norma Twilley Church.
Terry attended schools in Wicomico and Dorchester County. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17 in 1963 where he was an Airman 1st Class. Terry served as an aircraft mechanic for 4 years leaving in 1967 with an honorable discharge.
On November 16, 1997, he married Yvonne Bleyer. Terry started his own company after working with his father in the tire business. The Maintenance Company serviced the whole Delmarva area for 33 years until closing in 2019 for health reasons.
Terry enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and traveling in the RV. After retiring he loved grabbing a quick meal sitting at Great Marsh and riding around the water front. His best friend was his Pug Abraham. Terry had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes and quoting his favorite sayings, especially to his grandchildren.
Terry attended Bay Country Church where he loved greeting people at the door. Prior to attending Bay Country, he was a member of Souls Harbor Church.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Yvette Jane Church, a step brother Thomas Lomax.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne Church, his children Wylie Church (Shayna), Eval Church, Stephen Smith (Jennifer), Jayson Bleyer (Wendi), and Summer Trader (Matt), 13 grandchildren Jerry Church, Lucy Church, Molly Church, Wylie Church, Jr., Lila Sample, Levi Lank, Calvin Smith, Benton Smith, Jack Smith, Paige Bleyer, Peyton Bleyer, Kaiden Trader and Beckham Trader, three brothers James Kenneth Church (Robin), Daniel Mark Church (Cheryl) and Timothy Paul Church (Linda) and his step mother Louise Church and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wylie Church, Wylie Church, Jr., Tim Church, Levi Lank, Matt Trader and Jimmy Dayton.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 11am at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Jayson Bleyer officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bay Country Church, 714 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.
