Thelma A. Wingo

June 20, 1918 — April 19, 2012

Thelma A. Wingo, 93, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on April 19, 2012 at Holy Cross Hospital. She was born in Baltimore on June 20, 1918 to the late John and Rose Bronokowski Adams.

She attended and graduated from the Baltimore school system. In 1937 she married the late Henry L. Wingo who passed away on March 30, 1981. They moved to Cambridge in 1957. She was a voracious reader, and loved word searches and was full of love for everyone. She was a member of Our Sheppard Lutheran Church in Cambridge.

She is survived by a daughter, June Rose Wingo Carbone and husband Ray of Steuben, Maine, a son Paul A. Wingo and partner Laura Lee Dillon of Olney, MD, a daughter in law Paula A. Wingo of Cambridge, two grandsons Adam and wife Orianna Wingo of Fairfax, VA, and Chekotah Wingo of Blue Hill, Maine, along with numerous nieces and nephews Besides her husband and her parents Mrs. Wingo was preceded in death by a son Michael A. Wingo, a daughter in law Andrea Wingo and a sister Rose Stewart.

A celebration of life will be held during the 8:45 a.m. praise service on June 3, 2012 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Bahr officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
