Thomas B. "Benny" Johnson, 65 of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Memorial Hospital in Easton. He was born on July 18, 1943 in Cambridge and was a son of the late Milford F. and Mary Condon Johnson.

Mr. Johnson attended schools in Dorchester County. On July 27, 1963 he married the former Dorothy Brinsfield. Mr. Johnson farmed his whole life. He had worked for Dorco Fertilizer Company, Dorchester County Roads Board, Hardaway Construction Company and at the time of his passing he was working at the Maryland Environmental Services in Easton. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Johnson was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Johnson of Cambridge, two sons Randy Paul Johnson and wife Jill and their children Amber Johnson, Megan Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Victoria-Lyn Stuart, Brandt Swann, Ben Johnson, Drew Johnson, Randall Johnson, Jr. all of Cambridge and Brian Scott Johnson and companion Trisha and their children Hunter Haddaway, Haylee Haddaway, Kayleigh Johnson and Gunner Johnson all of Hurlock, a daughter Lauren Marie Johnson and fiancAC.e Michael Thomas Mabrie of Linkwood and her brother Benjamin Park III, sisters and a brother Sarah Frase of Preston, Kathryn Barnes of Milford, DE, Jake Johnson and wife Margaret of Mardela Springs, Margaret McKenrick and husband Stanley of East New Market and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death two brothers and a sister William Johnson, Robert Johnson and Norma Eberspacher.

Pallbearers will be Keith "Joe" Tillery, Bobby Willey, Chris Nash, Eric Frase, Rusty Carter, Jimmy Hayden, Art Kellum and Kenny Harris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Danny Jones, Mike Thume, Andre Stanley, James Wilson, Robert Phillips, Debbie Carter, Sara Baney, John Cooney and Kyle Young.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, c/o Doris Weber, 5163 Maple Dam Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
