Timothy L. Morris, 63, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Dorchester General Hospital. He was born in Cambridge on August 8, 1947 and was a son of the late Meredith B. and Ruth Todd Morris.
Mr. Morris graduated from South Dorchester High School. He was Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He was always a waterman. Timmy was owner/operator of T.L. Morris Seafood in Trappe. He was a volunteer with Coastal Hospice. Timmy was a mentor to young people. He was a member of Souls Harbor Church of God. Prior to Souls Harbor Church of God, he was a Methodist lay speaker in his youth. He was also a member of South Dorchester Jaycee's where he served as president and was a member of the Republican Central Committee. Timmy supported the local Fraternal Order of Police and he purchased a life vest for the K-9 Unit. He also sponsored local softball teams.
He is survived by a nephew Brian Creighton and wife Missy of Easton and their children Josh Creighton and Richie Long, close friends Charles Marshall of Cambridge and Josh Parker of Vienna, several aunts and uncles. Besides his parents, Timmy is preceded in death by a sister Vicky Creighton.
Pallbearers will be Josh Parker, Jason Mills, Jake Jones, Nelson Goslin, P.T. Hambleton, Buddy Pritchett, Gary Marshall and Radcliffe Wheatley.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Souls Harbor Church of God with Rev. J. Edward King officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Souls Harbor Church of God, 718 Peachblossom Ave., Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
