Viola M. Mowbray, 67, of Hurlock passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Med Star Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She was born in Talbot County on February 22, 1949 and was a daughter of the late Julius L. Greenwood, Sr. and Margaret Swann Greenwood.
She attended schools in Talbot County. On April 2, 1965, she married Norman W. Mowbray, Sr., who passed away on December 11, 2001. Mrs. Mowbray was a nurse assistant with Cambridge House and William Hill. She enjoyed cross word puzzles, and country music.
She is survived by a daughter Melissa Mowbray of Hurlock, three sons Steve Greenwood, Keith Mowbray and wife Alexis of Federalsburg and Jeff Mowbray, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, a sister Helen Anderson of Cambridge, two brothers Julius Greenwood, Jr. of Cambridge and William "Billy" Greenwood and wife Lydia of Hurlock and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband Mrs. Mowbray is preceded in death by a son Norman Mowbray, Jr. and a granddaughter Angel Bowens.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 1 pm at East New Market Cemetery with Father Brian Glancey officiating. Family will receive friends from 11 to 12 at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.
