Virginia Brohawn Vincent, 97, of Denton passed away peacefully on April 19, 2017 at Homestead Manor in Denton, Maryland where she had resided for 15 years.
She was born June 23, 1919 to the late Roy Mills and Beulah Brooks Mills and raised in Woolford, MD. She graduated from Cambridge High School, class of 1938. In 1939, she married James Brohawn and together they raised three daughters. Mr. Brohawn passed away April 24, 1963. In 1967, she married Paul Vincent and moved to Lewes, DE. He passed away in 1994.
For most of her life, she was a homemaker, but had worked at Airpax while in Cambridge. She and Mr. Vincent were devout Christians in the Wesleyan faith. Together, they served in various positions within the church.
She is survived by three daughters; Kaye Donaway (Richard), Jayne McQuate both of Seaford and Sylvia Brohawn of East New Market. Also, five grandchildren Jacqui Moreno of New Mexico, Leslie Yarmoll, Lonny Groton (Billy), Jolene Collins (Doug), all of Delaware and Rob Hughes (Cara) of East New Market; many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who she thought the world of.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, both previous husbands, a grandson Jamie Hughes in 2012, two sisters Margaret Tyler and Katherine Ross and brother Benny Mills.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home P.A. with Rev. Larry Pritchett and Rev. Paul Dieter presiding. Visitation with family from 1:00 to 2:00. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Homestead Manor Activities Dept., 410 Colonial Drive, Denton, MD 21629 or to Denton Wesleyan Camp, c/o Bill Arnold, 424 East Wesley Circle, Denton, MD 21629.
