Vivian H. Marshall, 86, of Cambridge, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Chesapeake Woods Center, surrounded by her family. She was born in Crapo on June 19, 1928 and was a daughter of the late George and Georgia Dixon Harper. On April 22, 1945, she married Franklin E. Marshall, who passed away on April 25, 1987.
Vivian loved the Lord and shared that Christian love with others through her devotion to Countryside Christian Church’s parish and school, until her health began to fail. She was also a member of the Dorchester General Ladies Auxiliary.
Spending most of her early years as a homemaker, she worked at Bambrick’s Pharmacy, the Eastern Shore Hospital Center, and Wal-Mart. Vivian loved cooking and having large family dinners on holidays. She also enjoyed making crafts of all sorts and shopping.
She is survived by five sons: Rene Marshall (Diane) of Millsboro, Delaware; Rex Marshall, Sr. (Shirley) of Cambridge; Barry Marshall (Judy) of East New Market; Kenneth Marshall (Barbara) of Cambridge; and Mark Marshall (Debbie) of Charleston, West Virginia; a daughter, Joyce Marshall of Athens, Pennsylvania; daughter-in-law, Diana Marshall; ten grandchildren: Theresa Marshall, Jessica Dukes (Ricky), Rex Marshall, Jr. (Stephanie), Stacey Marshall, Scott Marshall (Maryna), Kyle Marshall (Melissa), Nick Marshall, Brittney Bennett (Tyler), Brandy Marshall, and Breann Marshall; and twelve great-grandchildren; her brother, George Harper (Ann); sisters-in-law, Olive Harper and Theresa Harper; and many nieces and nephews. Vivian also leaves behind her beloved poodle, April.
In addition to her parents and husband, Vivian was also predeceased by thirteen siblings.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Marshall, Rex Marshall, Jr., Scott Marshall, Kyle Marshall, Nick Marshall, Ricky Dukes, Hanks Henry, Ed Bramble, and Al Moore.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Countryside Christian Church with Glenn Ruark officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Countryside Christian Church, 5333 Austin Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
