W. Allan "Tut" Jones

W. Allan "Tut" Jones, 85, of Toddville passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013 at University of Maryland Shore Medical center at Dorchester. He was born in Toddville on September 23, 1927 and was a son of the late Malcolm and Maysie Todd Jones.

He attended schools in Toddville. On June 5, 1957, he married the former Carolyn Todd. He was a boat builder and a waterman his whole life. He built his own workboat named Miss Melody named after his daughter. Mr. Jones attended Zion United Methodist Church in Toddville.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Jones of Toddville, a daughter Melody Pritchett and husband Ronnie of Toddville, a godson Michael Tolley, god grandchildren Michael Tolley II and Taylor Tolley, two sisters Alva Mills of Crocheron and Eula Pritchett of Cambridge, special niece Saundra Parks and her husband Benny of Cambridge and other numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Jones is preceded in death by son Michael Allan Jones, a brother Edgar Jones and wife Marge, a sister Delores Todd and husband Webster and two nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. Michael LaClair officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the South Dorchester Community Center, c/o Rebecca Foxwell of Lakesville or Susan Windsor of Toddville or to Zion United Methodist Church Toddville, c/o Betsy Hughes, 2533 Toddville Rd., Toddville, MD 21672. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
