Wallace Jay Webster of Hebron, MD passed away at Peninsula regional Medical Center on Tuesday morning, December 30, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was 73. Born on January 7, 1941 at Dames Quarter, MD, he was the son of the late Norris Leon Webster, Sr. and Rhoda Wallace Webster.

Mr. Webster attended schools in Dorchester County and in 1961, he married Mary Ellen Ratcliffe. During his four years of service in the Air Force, they lived in Massachusetts and Kansas. After discharge from service, he began his career as a machine and auto mechanic.

Mr. Webster was employed as the maintenance manager with Salisbury Steel for many years and retired from Tyson Inc. in 2003. He continued to work part time for Neighbor Care and most recently Cardinal Health.

In addition to time spent with his family, Wallace enjoyed surfing the net, playing poker and other games online, and luncheons with high school classmates. A friendly and outgoing individual, he had a joke and smile for everyone.

Mr. Webster is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Webster, his children Terry Lynne Webster, Jay R. (Betty) Webster, Bobbi Jo Webster, grandchildren Devin Jay Webster and Megan Linn Wise, sisters Jean (Don) Ewalt, Ann (Billy Jack) Parks, Joanne Hopkins, Marion (Jimmy) Dayton and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Norris Leon Webster, Jr., Kenneth Webster and sisters Hilda Cannon and Margaret "Peggy" Webster.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, PA in Cambridge with Rev. Faith Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock. Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart Fund, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060, Coalition for Pulmonary, 10866 W.
