He attended schools in the Baltimore area. Mr. Kinsey served in the U.S. Navy from December 12, 1942 and was honorably discharged on May 16, 1951. He re-enlisted during the Korean Conflict and served aboard the USS Wasp, USS Midway and other aircraft carriers off the Korean coast. On December 12, 1948 he was married to the former Lillian "Dean" Bateman. For a number of years they had made their home in the Orchard Beach and Mulberry Hills areas of Anne Arundel Co. After he was discharged from the Navy, he had worked on the Anne Arundel County Police Dept for a number of years until he retired in 1977. Mr. & Mrs. Kinsey had made their home at Fishing Creek since 1978. Mrs. Kinsey passed away on April 14, 2000. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching his granddaughter Liz play softball. He had been in failing health for several months, and was stricken at his home on Saturday morning where he passed away.
Survivors include a daughter Mary Regester of Secretary, one son Walter E. Kinsey, Jr. and his wife Darcel Kinsey of Church Creek, two grandchildren Elizabeth Kinsey and Donald Loveless and his wife Jennifer and a great grandson Gordon Loveless, and one nephew James Kinsey and his family of Ellicott City. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
