Wanda Lee "Jitterbug" Pulley, 74, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 at UMSMC at Dorchester. She was born in Cambridge on August 26, 1939 and was a daughter of the late Russell W. and Lucille Bradford Burton.
Wanda attended Cambridge High School. On June 11, 1970, she married Robert Pulley. Wanda was employed at Diversey, which was formerly known as Cambridge Scientific, where she retired in 2006. She thought the world of her family and loved spending time with them. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cambridge.
Wanda is survived by her husband Robert Pulley of Cambridge, a daughter Donna Jones of Cambridge, a step son Dennis Shannon and wife Karen of Pasadena, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a sister Genevieve Cannon and husband Rodney of Cambridge, a niece Julie Lewis, numerous cousins and three special people that were like her own children; a niece Judy Grafton and two nephews Buddy Mowbray and Wayne Mowbray. Besides her parents, Mrs. Pulley is preceded in death by two sons Danny Lee Robbins and Donald David Robbins and a nephew Rodney Woodrow Cannon.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Robbins, Shawn Robbins, Zachary Robbins, Wayne Mowbray, John Grafton and Dennis Shannon, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Warner and Dean McNeil.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 12 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cambridge with Pastor George W. Wheatley, Jr. and Pastor Steve Trice officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church, 501 Glenburn Ave., Cambridge, MD 21613 or Jubilee Christian Fellowship, P.O. Box 202, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
