Weldon D. Andrews, 78, of Cambridge, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 15, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born in Wingate on June 27, 1939 and was a son of the late Granville and Ethel Bloodsworth Andrews.
He graduated from South Dorchester High School. He served in the Army National Guard. On February 15, 1963, he married the former Carol Ann Latshaw, who passed away on November 6, 2015. He worked as a life insurance agent for many years. He enjoyed singing at Mallard Bay and at numerous churches, praying for others, reading his Bible and riding his bike. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by six children David B. Andrews and wife Kim of Cambridge, Rebecca L. Andrews-Webster and husband Tim of Cambridge, Patricia E. Lauck and husband Hank of Linkwood, James D. Andrews and wife Linda of Federalsburg, Lisa M. Young and husband Philander of Cambridge, Brenda S. Booze and husband Richard of Georgia, twenty one grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, two sisters Patricia Bennett of Crapo and Susan Cantorna and husband Bert of Pasadena and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Andrews is preceded in death by a two grandsons Nicki Lee Baum, Jr. and Joshua Baum and a brother Granville Andrews, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Hank Lauck, Phil Young, Timmy Webster II, David Andrews, Matthew Andrews, Cody Andrews and James Andrews. Honorary pallbearer will be Tim Webster.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 1 pm at The First Baptist Church in Cambridge with Rev. Steve Trice officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.
