Wilbur H. "Piney" Lowe

April 12, 1939 — August 31, 2012

Wilbur H. "Piney" Lowe, 73 of Cambridge passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Dorchester General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Cambridge on April 18, 1939 and was a son of the late Wilbur Lowe, Sr. and Alice Robbins Lowe.

He attended schools in Cambridge. On September 18, 1963, he married the former Betty Harding. Piney worked for Haddaway Shell, Cambridge Creek Automotive and later worked and retired from Airpax in 2003. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family and grandson, and antique tractors.

He is survived by his wife Betty Lowe of Cambridge, a son Mark Lowe and wife Randi of Cambridge, a daughter Stephanie Grove and husband Jeff of Odenton, a grandson Alex Grove of Odenton and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Lowe is preceded in death by a brother Edward A. Lowe.

Pallbearers will be Steve Sullivan, Floyd Elzey, Bruce Grove, Don Moore, Butch Willoughby and Joe Tente. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerome "Zach" Shenton, Donny Willey, Henry "Snap" Lewis and Bobby Aaron.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. and Pastor Jayson Bleyer officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
