William Glenn Anderson, Sr.

William G. Anderson, Sr.,  67, of Cambridge, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 at UMSMC at Dorchester. He was born in Cambridge on June 4, 1947 and was a son of Alonzo Anderson and the late Nancy Mills Anderson.

Mr. Anderson attended schools in Cambridge. On June 4, 1971, he married the former Helen Greenwood.   William worked as a truck driver for the Maryland State Highway Administration for numerous years. He enjoyed dancing, playing the guitar, and any music in general. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 91, Indian POW WOWS, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Helen Anderson of Cambridge, one son, William Anderson, Jr. of Cambridge, three daughters, Margaret Anderson of Cambridge, Kimberly Andrews and husband David of Cambridge, and Nancy Anderson of Cambridge, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his father Alonzo Anderson and wife Margie of Ocean City, a step-son Kevin Greenwood of Delaware, five sisters and a brother, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 2 p.m. at East New Market Cemetery with Pastor Dave Stewart officiating. Family will receive friends from 12 to 1 at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral expenses.
