William H. “Billy” Beckwith, Jr., 52, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at UMSMC at Dorchester. He was born in Cambridge on July 16, 1962 and was a son of Patricia Gore Beckwith and the late William H. Beckwith.

Billy graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class of 1980. He was owner/operator of Beckwith Farms and Beckwith Equipment. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR and dirt track racing. Billy touched so many lives and will be missed by all. He was a member of the Cambridge Moose Lodge, Ducks Unlimited, Turkey Federation and Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his fiancée Judy Grafton of Cambridge, his mother Patricia Beckwith of Cambridge, his grandmother Louise Norris of Cambridge, a sister Dianna Short and husband Billy of Salem, a niece Jessica Short and a nephew Wes Short, step daughter Krystle Grafton and step granddaughter Josie Travers. Besides his father, Billy is preceded in death by a special uncle Charles Beckwith.

Pallbearers will be Russell Insley, Johnny Holotik, Norman Schuyler, Scott Shipley, Billy Short, Mark Adams, Kevin Lyons, Wayne Clark, Sonny Jackson and Drew Simmons. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Hines, Sonny Wagner, Buddy Mowbray, Sr., Mark Donaldson, C.A. Porter Hopkins, Goldsborough James and Philip Jackson, Sr.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Antioch United Methodist Church, c/o Susan Meredith, 2073 Dailsville Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
