William A. Graf, 90, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at UMSMC at Dorchester. He was born in Barrington, NJ on August 19, 1926 and was a son of the late William A. and Dorothea Mauch Graf.
He graduated from Haddon Heights High School in New Jersey and he served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On October 6, 1951, he married June B. Graf. Mr. Graf spent most of his career at Curtis Publishing Company in Philadelphia, PA and Tidewater Publishing in Centreville, MD. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #66 AF &AM, Boumi Shriners, Tall Cedars (Chesapeake of Lebanon Forest #115), Chester River Shrine Club, Eastern Shore Shrine Club, and Scottish Rite. Mr. Graf was a life member of American Legion Post #91 and Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW. He also attended Immanuel United Church of Christ in Cambridge.
He is survived by his wife June Graf of Cambridge and a daughter Barbara McGovern and husband Joe of Oriental, NC. Besides his parents Mr. Graf is preceded in death by a son William E. Graf and a sister Dorothea Turner.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 11 am at Immanuel United Church of Christ with Rev. Dale Krotee officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 with a Masonic service at 7 at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140 or to Immanuel United Church of Christ, 5401 White Hall Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
