William H. “Billy” Windsor, 61, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He was born in Cambridge on April 7, 1953 and was a son of the late Willis C. “Sonny” Windsor, Sr. and Etta Spear Windsor.
He graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1971 and had perfect attendance through his twelve years of schooling. On July 14, 1979, he married the former Barbara Jean Powell. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He had been a mechanic, but was most known for his 5W Towing Business. He enjoyed fishing, collecting toy trains and trucks, wood working and collecting coins.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Jean Windsor of Cambridge, three children Margaret "Meg" Windsor of Cambridge, James "Jimmy" Windsor and wife Stephanie of Cambridge, and Crystal Windsor of Cambridge, two grandchildren Evelyn McKenzie Windsor and James Willis Windsor, Jr., a brother Robert "Bobby" Windsor and wife Dawn of Cambridge and a niece Helen Foxwell of Cambridge, a nephew Michael Patrick, Jr. of Cambridge, a adopted brother John "JP" Patrick of Fayetteville, North Carolina and numerous other relatives. Besides his parents, Billy is preceded in death by two brothers Willis C. “Buddy” Windsor, Jr. and Barry J. Windsor.
Pallbearers will be Donald Bell, Steve Brohawn, Timmy Moore, Thomas "Bubby" Powley, Jimmy Windsor, Kenny Dean, Michael B. Patrick, Jr., and Wm. Frank Dietrich. Honorary pallbearers will be his closest friends.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m.
