He attended schools in Annapolis and had worked as a heavy equipment operator for a number of years and had last worked for S.W. Rodgers Co. in Manassas, VA. On November 28, 2008 he was married to the former Dianne Viether Soto. He enjoyed working as a DJ and had gone to the Bradford House to DJ on several occasions, and also enjoyed helping people and collecting M&M figures. He had been in failing health for the past two years when he passed away on Thursday morning.
Survivors include his wife Dianne Renee Viether Soto, one daughter Brandi Elizabeth Lewis and her husband Leon Lewis of Cambridge, one son Theodore Joseph Jones of Cambridge, one step son Bobby James Highsmith of Lancaster, CA, two step grandchildren Shelby Highsmith and Jacob Highsmith. He is also survived by his mother Hilda A. Retallack of Cambridge, one sister Connie Bell of Cambridge, two brothers Robert Jones of Edgewater, MD and Keith Retallack of Riva, MD. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Abe Lankford officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service. Pallbearers will be Robert Jones, Keith Retallack, Billy Turner, Donald Bell, Michael Viether, Danny Estep, Robert Griffin, Jordan Rossy and Ronald Webb. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.
