William John Kehoe Lewis, 79 of Cambridge passed away on Monday, January 18, 2010 at Mallard Bay Care Center. He was born in Cambridge on October 21, 1930 and was a son of the late Clarence and Grace Phillips Lewis.
Kehoe attended schools in Dorchester County. On July 13, 1956 he married the former Gwen Rosetta. He worked at Cambridge Wire Cloth with 46 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and crabbing.
He is survived by his wife Gwen L. Lewis of Cambridge, three daughters Brenda Kimmey of Hurlock, Wanda Tolley of Woolford and Susan Gerbig of Cambridge, two sons William John Kehoe Lewis, Jr. of Cambridge and Michael Lewis of Cambridge, grandson raised as a son Warren Stafford of Cambridge, four grandchildren Stephanie Hill of Cambridge, Heather Abbott of Salisbury, Ashley Kimmey of Hurlock and Mila Tolley of Salisbury, 6 great grandchildren and three sisters Mary Cameron, Louise Adkins and DeRue Hoffman all of Cambridge Besides his parents, Kehoe is preceded in death by a grandson Drew Tolley and a sister Anna Lowe.
Pallbearers will be Emmett Dunnock, Herbert Messick, Pat Murphy, Derrick Hoffman, Sonny Dorman and Terry Linthicum.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. George W. Wheatley, Jr. and Rev. Kevin English officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
