William W. Marshall, 77, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Chesapeake Woods Center. He was born in Cambridge on August 26, 1939 and was a son of the late William R. and Doris Hubbard Marshall.

He graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1957. Mr. Marshall served in the U.S.  Coastal Guard from 1958 to 1966. He worked at National Can Corporation, where he retired. Mr. Marshall married the former Doris Elzey, who passed away on December 28, 2016. He was a member of Spedden United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 91, Cambridge Power Boat Association, and the Hill’s Point Gang. Mr. Marshall was also a past president of the United Steel Workers Association Local #6307 and a manager of numerous youth sports.

He is survived by his children William “Billy” Marshall and wife Linda of Cambridge, Debbie Marshall of Hudson and Teresa Hernandez of Hudson, six grandchildren Casey Marshall, Megan Marshall, Billy Marshall, Debra Marshall, Carlie Marshall, Ellie Marshall, a sister Brenda M. Hurley and husband Robert of Hills Point and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11 am at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hill’s Point Gang, P.O. Box 1456, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
