William T. Murphy

William Thomas Murphy, 88, of Cambridge passed away Tuesday December 9, 2008 at Dorchester General Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Cambridge on August 15, 1920 to the late Horace and Melissa Travers Murphy. Mr. Murphy was a farmer. He was an avid fisherman and hunting enthusiast.
He is survived by several step-children, Donald Stump of Florida, Robert Stump and his wife Joan of Cambridge, Brice Stump of Princess Anne, and Arlene Burton and her husband Rodney of Cambridge, a niece Melissa Robbins of Cambridge and two nephews Philip Jackson and Ralph Jackson III, a brother in law Ralph Jackson Jr. of Cambridge, he is also survived by several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Marion Stump Murphy, a step-son Howard Stump, a sister Sarah Jackson and a brother Horace Murphy.
A funeral service will be held on Friday December 12, 2008 at 11 A.M. at Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Philip Jackson, Kevin Morgan, Ralph Jackson III, Herbert North Jr., Brice Stump, and Norman Schuyler.
