William C. "Billy" Robinson

William C. “Billy” Robinson, 73, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Mallard Bay Care Center with his family by his side. He was born in Toddville on April 9, 1942 and was a son of the late Wilbur Royston Robinson and Nina Robinson.

He graduated from South Dorchester High School class of 1960. On November 4, 1960, he married the former Norma Lee Robinson. Billy worked at Cambridge Wire Cloth for 34 years. He enjoyed watching television, traveling, avid 49er's fan, wrestling, fishing and going out to dinner. He was a member of the United Steel Worker’s Association.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma Lee Robinson, his children Rhonda Moran and fiancee Tee Bradley, Cassie Hibble and husband Joe, William C. “Binky” Robinson II and wife Patty and Jeffrey S. Robinson and wife Brandie all of Cambridge, grandchildren Kristin, Roxanna, Chuck, Dalton, Alexis, JJ, William C. Robinson III,  Alana Hurley, Karla and Adam Schieferstein, Harley Hubbard, Morgan Willey, great grandchildren Sebastian and Evelai Hurley, Ariana Shores, Piper Knode, Kadence, Wm. Jayden and Lily Robinson, Adam E. Schieferstein, JuJu Ennals, Amirra Exume' and Naomi Williams, two brothers Bobby Robinson and wife Kaye, Charles Robinson and a sister Beverly Robinson all of Cambridge, a sister in law Nancy Robinson of Church Creek and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Billy is also survived by several close friends Eddie Bramble, Barry Lewis, Margareta Crampton, Dr. Tim Sniezek and his beloved dog Nugget. Besides his parents, Billy is preceded in death by a brother Romie Quinn Robinson and a nephew Romie Robinson II.

Pallbearers will be Joe Hibble, Barry Hurley, Tee Bradley, Adam Schieferstein, Chuck Robinson and Jack Wilson, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Lewis, Bobby Patterson, Eddie Bramble, Jack Wilson, Sr., J.R. Bloom and Charles Gabbin.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 1 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. George W. Wheatley, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 and also on Thursday from 11 am to 1 pm.
