William R. Trice, 85, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, April 2, 2012 at Chesapeake Woods Center. He was born in Federalsburg on November 24, 1926 and was a son of the late Eugene C. and Lula Bradley Trice.
He attended and graduated from Cambridge High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. On May 5, 1951 he married the former Marie Lauck. He worked for Bell Atlantic and retired 1989 with 38 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 91, the First Baptist Church in Cambridge and St. Luke's Church in Secretary.
He is survived by his wife Marie J. Trice of Cambridge, a daughter Bonnie Griffith and husband Ed of Cambridge, a sister Gladys Woolford of Cambridge and a niece Diane Wise and husband Bill of Cambridge. Besides his parents, Mr. Trice is preceded in death by a granddaughter Lisa Phillips, two sister's Alice Trice and Betty Hogeboom and three brothers Kelso Trice, Eugene Trice and Herbert Trice.
Pallbearers will be Andy Engle, Kevin Asplen, Bill Wise, Wayne potter, George Burton, Nick Kowitski and Bobby Tyler.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cambridge with Pastor Steve Trice and Rev. Bob King officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Luke's Church, P.O. Box 94, Secretary, MD 21664. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
