Wilsie Ella (Willey) Spedden

Wilsie E. Willey Spedden, 94, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Cambridge on September 11, 1922 and was a daughter of the late Howard and Carrie Robbins Willey.

Mrs. Spedden attended and graduated from Cambridge High School. On September 17, 1940, she married James W. Spedden, who passed away on December 13, 2002. She worked for a short while before becoming a house wife and a baby sitter for many of her familie’s children.

She is survived by two sons Jimmy Spedden of Secretary and Donnie Spedden and wife Barbara of Cambridge, a son in law Wayne Gray, Sr., seven grandchildren Wayne Gray, Jr., Debra Webster, Sandra Green, Brandi Spedden, Taylor Spedden, Dawn Finelli and Tory Spedden, six great grandchildren Tommy Gray, Shelton Gray, Dalton Green, Landon Green, Sam Finelli and Abby Finelli, two sisters Nettie Flieschman and Florence Anstine, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Spedden is preceded in death by two daughters Norma Lee Gray and Joyce Slacum, great grandson Cody Green, a son in law Navy Slacum, and a daughter in law Paula Spedden. She was one of nine children, six are deceased, three sisters Myrtle Hurley, Evelyn Dean and Pearl Griffith, three brothers Calvin Willey, Raymond Willey and Gordy Willey.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Gray, Jr., Taylor Spedden, Tory Spedden, Tommy Gray, Shelton Gray, Wayne Gray, Sr., Bobby Green and Greg Webster.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11 am at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to charity of one's choice.
