Gary P. Parker, 43, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday evening November 27, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born in Cambridge on October 24, 1970 and was a son of Catherine Insley Parker and the late Walter Allan Parker, Jr.

Gary graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class 1988. He was enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. Gary was employed at John Tieder's for 16 years, then at Ace Hardware as a store manager and later he was employed at Atlantic Rental. Gary enjoyed dirt track racing, hunting, fishing, bowling, darts, and shooting pool. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboy's fan.

He is survived by his son Patrick "Pee Wee" Parker of Cambridge, his mother Catherine Parker of Moyock, NC, a sister Cheryl Workman of Moyock, NC, a brother Richard Parker and wife Lori Lynn Parker of Cambridge, two granddaughters Nicole Lyn Parker, Tara Marie Parker, a nephew Nathan Workman and two nieces Deanna Davis and Stephanie Morris.

Pallbearers will be Matt Simmons, Jeff Tyler, JD Hill, Binky Robinson, John Conn and Allan Shores. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Shores, Dave Parks, John Sydnor, Mickey Henry, and Josiah Holland.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Cambridge Wesleyan Church in Cambridge with Rev. Jack Diehl and Rev. Dave Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
