Lawrence "Larry" Faw Owens

Lawrence “Larry” F. Owens, 83, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at his home. He was born in Cambridge on August 16, 1933 and was a son of the late William C. and Aileen Slacum Owens.

Mr. Owens graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1951. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was an air traffic controller. On April 29, 1962, he married the former Carolyn Faye Bradley, who passed away on April 30, 2015.  He was a master electrician and was employed with several businesses, but his longest employment was with Airpax. Mr. Owens enjoyed wood working. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his son Bruce Owens of Cambridge, a granddaughter Meagan E. Owens of Cambridge, a brother David Owens of Vienna and a sister Lauralee Hurley of Connecticut. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Owens is preceded in death by a son Jeffrey S. Owens.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 12:30 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Christina Blake officiating. Interment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
