Timothy W. Reed

Timothy William Reed, 62, of Salisbury, MD, passed away on November 24, 2013 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. He was born on May 16, 1951 in Green Bay, WI and was a son of Norma Renneisen Reed and the late Rev. George E. Reed.

Tim graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1969, Frostburg State College in 1973 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and from Towson State College in 1975 with a Master's degree in School Psychology. Tim received his Doctorate in Philosophy from University of Maryland in 1994. On August 24, 1974 he married Elizabeth A. Wright. In the fall of 1975 Tim was the first School Psychologist in Worcester County and enjoyed his career there for 34 years. He served as a representative to the MSTA Convention as well as the NEA Convention, became the Chair of the IPD Committee, member of NASP, MSPA, and a representative of the Northern and Central Sections of WCPA. Tim was a very involved and hands on father and husband. A few of his many activities were serving as the Committee Chairman of the BSA Troop 184 along with coaching many softball and soccer teams.

Tim is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Elizabeth "Beth" Reed; daughter Kelly Reed DeCespedes and her husband Michael DeCespedes of Fort Lauderdale FL; grandson Landon Christopher DeCespedes; brother Jeffrey and sister-in-law Silvia; brother Steven; brother Philip and sister-in-law Donna; father-in-law Frank Wright; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nancy and Michael McIntee; brother-in-law Marc Stanley; and nieces and nephews Matthew Reed, Ashley Reed Ziomek, John Stanley, Kathy Stanley Tran, Daniel Reed, Alan and Philip McIntee. Tim is preceded in death by his son Christopher Lee Reed, mother-in-law Edith "Kitten" Wright and sister-in-law Terry Wright Stanley. Also dear to his heart were his friends and co-workers.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 30th at 1:00 at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Robert White, of Christ Church, officiating. The viewing will begin at 11:30 until 1:00. Interment will follow at a later date at Christ Episcopal Churchyard.
